I would recommend Floyd's Cajun Seafood to anyone - including the pickiest of picky eaters! Even when they are packed to a level of standing room only, the service is exceptional and the food is always spot-on delicious. My favorites here include the crab bisque and the crawfish. I have eaten bisque at a lot of different places, but Floyd's always rises leaps and bounds above the rest. I was reminded of this last night when I ate some that was sub-par at a different restaurant. ((my mistake!)) My family LOVES their outrageously fresh oysters on the half shell too. When it comes to Floyds, I do not mind if I have to wait 30-45 minutes for a table - it is ALWAYS well worth it. If you haven't been to visit "Dawg" ((you'll meet him when you get there, and he's always wearing golf shoes!)) get over there. You are truly missing out on a cajun gem!

So Sorry Babygirl

This establishment is authentic cajun food, owners and management included. The fact that you ate over 15 pounds of crawfish and more than likely drinks from the bar and other food, there is no surprise that your bill was over $125. That is great deal of crawfish and in this current economic crunch an establishment that never has frozen seafood and has deliveries daily-which now cost substantially more due to the price of gas-is not in a position to give away food because that is not how one sustains a business. If you are not willing to pay for good food, prepared in the most authentic manner you should try McDonalds. In addition, you found one roach in 15+ pounds of crawfish. As any experienced crawfish handler will tell you that is not anything to be surprised about. I have found turtles, small fish, eggs, and a variety of bugs in numerous bags of live crawfish about to be boiled. You do know where crawfish comes from, right? On the other hand, Floyd's Cajun Seafood House has a variety of great dishes, including alligator, smothered hamburger steak, fried catfish, and the best white gravy I have every tasted. The managers, indeed, are incompetent, lazy, and frankly, down right rude. This is the environment, but it is a fun place to eat, with great food. Personally, I think the expertise and authenticity of the recipes and the cooks that prepare them are unbeatable. The waitstaff is just like any other establishment, some good, some terrible, but that is not the food. If you want great food and a good time, there is no place like this. And the crawfish is the most consistent you will find! They are generally good sized and always tasty.

Best Crawfish anywhere!

I cannot say enough about this place. It is awesome. The service is great, the staff is friendly and the food is the best. The gumbo is the "bomb". Great flavor. The freshly shucked oysters on the half shell are fabulous! But I cannot fail to tell you about the crawfish. I have tried many, many local surrounding restaurants, including Galveston and Houston and the crawfish at Floyd's are the best by far! Nicely seasoned and they actually soak their crawfish to make them juicy and spicy, not dry and overcooked. This place is generally very busy on the weekends and I've seen it hopping even during the week, but it is SO worth the wait time! Great place to have alot of fun after work!

N.O. Style Barbecue Crabs

Great gumbo, red beans and sausage, jambalaya and the best barbecue crabs (avoid Sartin's crabs). Abita beers. One of the guys here served his own homemade ice cream on Saturdays; it was superb, and I wish he were still here. I've been back many times alone, and once with a large party (all sere satisfied).
